The detailed analysis of the enterprise’s organizational structure and the functions performed by its basic units and key employees was carried out as a part of the present research.
The organizational structure existing at the beginning of the research did not meet the strategy formulated by the business owners. The organizational structure included the production unit and the unit rendering services.
The functions of the main key employees were not formalized. The employees often performed the work alien to their position due to the enterprise’s imperfect organizational structure and business processes, thus resulting in the core activity effectiveness decrease.
The optimized organizational structure stipulates the reorganization of existing and establishing new units at the enterprise, the redistribution of some key functions among the enterprise’s departments and the Holding structures.
In particular, the functions previously performed by the Production Unit, have been reallocated as follows:
- The designer position is a structural unit of the Marketing Department rather than the Production Department, as it used to be. This approach allows a modeler to work on the basis of the customers’ needs, but not to "fit" his work to the production requirements.
- The Quality Control Department is allocated into a separate unit within the Marketing Department, and it is not subject to the Production Director, as it used to be previously; the Marketing Department formulates the Company quality policy and controls its fulfillment.
In the process of the enterprise’s organizational structure optimization, the Regulations of the organizational structure and the basic structural units, job descriptions were developed. The optimized organizational structure is fully consistent with the optimized business processes (see: Section 3.2 of the Report).
